This weekend we were honoured to welcome His Royal Highness, The Duke of Cambridge, to officially open our brand new state-of-the-art Dragon Brewery ahead of Wales’ crunch match with Ireland.

The Duke followed in the footsteps of generations of Welsh rugby fans by preparing for the big game with a pint of Wales’ most iconic beer, Brains SA.

Before demonstrating his skills in pulling a pint of Brains, His Royal Highness was given a tour of the company’s new high-tech brewery and shown how our famous beers are brewed. The Duke also took the opportunity to fill a 9-gallon cask of beer as part of his tour, while meeting our brewery team and some of the staff who have been installing the equipment over the past few months.

As Wales’ best-known brewer and pub company, we have reinforced our commitment to brewing in the nation’s capital by commissioning the Dragon Brewery on a new site at Pacific Road in Cardiff Bay. Here we will be producing more than 20 million pints of Brains beer a year across a variety of different styles, while meeting the very latest environmental standards.
